Nowy Staw, Europ. Informations - und Kulturzentrum Lublin (PL) European Meeting Centre is one of the most sucessful nongovernmental organizations in Poland. For 11 years now Nowy Staw Foundation has been focusing their operations on civil society and solidarity between nations. We have been supporting Polish integration into the European Union in a very active way. We have been promoting Lublin and Lublin region as a meeting place of various cultures and nations. Our activities aim at supporting and strengthening basic values of democracy shaped by Christianity, marked economy and union of different cultures beyond all boundaries mainly by spreading knowledge among all generations. Our Foundation acts in the Lublin region, in central and eastern Poland. For many centuries Lublin has been a meeting point of numerous nations and cultures. Lublin, as a joining point of various cultures and denominations of Eastern and Western Europe can take pride in possessing countless tokens and monuments of friendly and creative cooperation of different nations. This unique dimension of Lublin region history gives a special opportunity to create rewarding cooperation between young people from Europe. Our Foundation has been trying to attain its goals through initiating, supporting and organising numerous projects, both national and international. National initiatives are addressed to leaders of various communities- NGOs, student’s organisations and school ones. Organised trainings are supposed to prepare people for active participation and functioning in local and non-local communities. The majority of our projects is carried out in close cooperation with foreign partners.Every year, thousands of people have taken active part in programmes and projects initiated by the Foundation.
